It's the first musical drama film I ever watched. Because it's a musical, 98% of the dialogues are lyrics and I love it. In the beginning, it's mentioned the movie was about the France Revolution but many articles tell people to enjoy it but get the history straight; it isn't about France Revolution. Okay, just leave it to the historians.

Just because of stealing a loaf of bread, Jean Valjean got punished for 5 years in jail and the number raised to 19 years because of several escaping trials. And during the time, he was called 24601. He got his parole but no one wanted his presence and it made him only knew hatred. Then he hided in a cemetery area of a church and a Bishop welcomed him warmly and served him good food.

It's the first time for him treated like a human. But so many valuable stuffs in the church dazzling his eyes and he couldn't stand to not steal them. He got caught by the authority and dragged him back to the Bishop as Valjean said that the stuffs were given by him.

The Bishop explained the authority that Valjean said the truth and asked him to be freed. The Bishop instead added Valjean had forgot to bring the most valuable thing among them he had taken. The authority passed, and Bishop advised Valjean to use the stuffs to change him be a better man. Valjean was so touched and ripped his parole document to be a brand new man.

8 years later, he had become a kind hearted factory owner and a pride of the people's Mayor in Montreuil-sur-Mer. But, because he had against the parole law that he should make a report in the rest of his life; he had missed, he became a fugitive.

He could say that he was not 24601 as he was a honorable Mayor. Not to mention there was an innocent man arrested because of being alleged as him. But he didn't want to betray Bishop's trust and confessed he was the fugitive. He asked the Inspector 3 days to save a little girl, a daughter of his former female laborer who had been maligned as a prostitute. She sold her hair and teeth, and finally her body, to redeem her daughter.

Just watched the movie with the only sister of mine, three days ago. Oh, just need one night tight sleep to change everything back to its normal condition. Maybe I forget to mention that she threw a cup, till broke in pieces, in the quarrelling night. Lol. It's the main reason why we repeated the same mistake again and again. Too easy to make it up. We shouted, threw things, rude words, even sometimes there were some physical contacts but, just needed a trivial thing to calm it down.

My Sister enlisted A Royal Affair into her notebook's must-see movies list. It's a non-English movie; using Danish maybe. Watching a historical drama movie always drain our heart and mind. The only thing I hate from it  is the exaggerated sexual content. And the rests are really good. Of course the emotions built by the characters, breathtaking sceneries and the beautiful Renaissance gowns. I watched Anna and The King and I saw what make the gown that billow was bamboo arrangement inside the skirt.

It's about Caroline Mathilde who married to Denmark's insane king, Christian VII of Denmark. Christian's deviant behaviors; childish yet womanizing, he regularly visited the whorehouse even took the woman to his room and ignored his queen, gave Caroline a queen just for a status. And then Struensee came into their marriage life. He had been the King's physician and Christian listened to him the most. He loved Struensee like siblings. An affair was inevitable between Caroline and Struensee. Moreover they had the same missions about the rabbles; freed them from the slavery and so many unfair treatments by their masters.

Stuensee took advantage from Christian's trust to him to remodel the cabinet and it's for the rabbles' sake, though. Mathilde gave a birth to a Crown Prince from Christian and a daughter from Stuensee. The insane King was too idiot to save his Queen and best friend. The third party who just thought their business took advantage from the King's stupidity and Caroline's and Stuensee's mistake. Christian had been a Doll King, Stuensee was beheaded and Caroline was exiled.

Watching it till the end made my emotional flutter...

Do you remember your childhood cartoon movie Hansel & Gretel? The siblings who had been left by their father deep in the forest because of their stepmother's forced. They followed a bird which led them to a gingerbread house with candy window and an old woman lured them with comfort soft bed which made them followed her entering the house, and it turned out the woman was a witch loving to eat kids. Gretel outsmarted her and they could save themselves by pushing the witch's body to the burning oven.

Still love the cartoon but felt ashamed by your older age? Don't worry as the cartoon 'gets older' too. Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters is the childhood version's extended story. After saving themselves from the witch, Hansel & Gretel had been duo-siblings of witch hunters. They could eradicate 'amateur' witches easily till they hired by Augsburg's Mayor to solve children's kidnapping case in the town.

Their hunting ability was strictly tested as they faced a 'pro' witch, Muriel; only 'pro' witches could change their appearances. They must stop the witch's ritual of Blood Moon which needed six young boys and six young girls who born in separated months, January to December, to create potion that would make dark witches impervious to fire. And white witch's heart was needed in the ritual and a fact revealed, Gretel was a white witch followed by other facts that their mother was a grand white witch who burned at the stake because of Muriel's rumor spreading. Muriel made Gretel as her target because her Mom was too strong for Muriel.

I think it becomes a trend for many films released based on the childhood cartoon movie. With its black comedy, this movie was a big no for children due to its sexual content, gore and so many sadistic scenes.

holat
Big family from Dad's side come today to have some silaturrahmi. At the same time Dad asked Pak Tua's help to make holat (Simalungun tribe's typical food; grilled chicken neatly placed on a plate) and nitak (made of mashed rice, palm sugar and ginger). In Simalungun tradition, the two cuisines usually used as a 'tool' to convey any intention and hope, from parents to their children. With their two hands holding the plate and together give it while saying what they hope of what their children will achieve, and the child will accept the plate with his two hands too.

I personally do not believe any tradition like that (never tell it to my parents). I just follow what they want and the only thing I love is the holat. It has a very unique taste. Not just anyone who can make it because too many rules to be done. And for the nitak, we are not allowed to taste it to know if we have got the balance flavor or not. We will get nitak just the way it will be in the end. I asked why and nobody can answer. Lol. They just 'threatened' me that I will get diarrhea if I against the rule. And my aunt said that with no kidding -,-"

Don't judge a book by its cover. I myself feel that picture is so disgusting. But it tastes something you'll never imagine till you really try it. Nyamz!!

I don't like the nitak. Too sweet in my taste. And before eat it, I was forced to must eat boiled chicken eggs filling with a ginger slice and cayenne pepper. Not only one but two! You are not allowed to bite it little by little but eat it at once. Twice for two eggs, okay. Lol.

This is the secret for holat. Never think it's slices of smoked meat, okay. It's the slices of bark called sitkam tree. Nobody in this house can tell me how to call sitkam in Bahasa so, yeah.. -,-"// The slices would be mashed and then squeezed the water. The juice which will be used in holat.

Continue with briefly relax in the beach. Lebaran atmosphere is still in the air and it made the people who felt the right to charge people to enter the beach be so stubborn. They gave so unreasonable price; 13k rupiahs for each person and there were 12 people in our group. We are local people! Moreover we came in the afternoon when many people had been out of there. Brother negotiated to give 20k rupiahs or we went to other beach. The people gave me LOL for accepting the price. huahahaha.

This stupid kid, just like her Dad is so afraid of big water. The reason: afraid of drowning. Though she had the life ring, she still didn't want to join her cousins into the water. She preferred to play with the life ring on the sand  -,-"

Suddenly want to back to my broken English blogpost like my http://damaniqueen.blogspot.com/ and other blogger friends who also use English had given me more spirit to gain my English ability at least in writing. Find some mistakes in my writing? There will be no hard feeling if you tell me ^,^

Overtook Mom and Kakak to Kampung this morning with Dad and Abang. Then drove Mama to a clinic in the afternoon and found an old year of publication magazine in the receptionist table, Forum Keadilan (Forum of Justice), while waiting the doctor came. I was 7 years in that time and I just remember I was only a second grade elementary schoolgirl. Now I can flashback what important occurrences happened in my childhood; something I never care at that time. Though I can remember some of them.

  • Humanistic dialogue for Soeharto's re-run for president
Indonesia was at its worst economic crisis at that time and people blamed him for not being able to control it. So many argumentations about who was the best person who could replace him and late Abdurrahman Wahid, Megawati Soekarno Putri and also our current president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono included in the list.

  • New warriors in Bank of Indonesia
The list included Miranda Gultom and that's the start for her to serve as The Deputy of Bank of Indonesia and now she entangles in bribery case for the position. And also Aulia Pohan who is now father-in-law of President Yudhoyono's first son.

  • The death of Princess Diana and Mother Theresa
I remember about the Princess but never know about Mother Theresa at that time. But I ever watched a movie about her struggle for the rabbles in India on Metro TV's World Movie. Lady Di was died  in a tragic accident with her boyfriend, Dodi Al Fayed, in Paris tunnel on 31 December. And Mother Theresa died adrift just one week from Lady Di's death.

  • Titanic's first release
I remember. I and my friends were under my friend's aunty's watch while watching the movie due to the sexual content. We were underage. Lol. Directed by James Cameron, Titanic cost $200 millions (1 trillion rupiah). I can't imagine how much that money is today.

Titanic had been made into more than 20 movies and even a month after the tragedy, Save From The Titanic which acted by them who were the real Titanic tragedy survivors, was released. But Cameron had the different version from the others and don't forget about the budget. Other versions just show about the Titanic only and Cameron made it by adding the forbidden love story between people with high and low status.

Cameron prepared 5 years for observation before started to film it. He dive to see the ruins of the ship. He made the replica of Titanic which was only 10 % smaller than the original and prepared 64 millions litre of water to drown it. To create an authentic ship interior, Cameron built studio covering 16 hectares.

The article guested if Cameron would get best profit from his big ambition with his Titanic or just drown like the real ship which ever dubbed as the unsinkable ship. You can answer it, right?

A Treat
Get a simple lunch treat today from Yutri for her acceptance in one of Syari'ah Banks in this country. Beef balls for me, complete chicken noodle for her and two portions of fried rice for Au and Chang. Not forget to get kacang atom for the topping. She will start September by going to Bogor for the short training and as the plan, she will be placed in Tanjung Morawa. Wish her luck!! Hopefully the job will suit her vision and lead her to a bright future

Today was filled with laugh with the best girls of mine. Sweet jokes with Chang as the target; as always. She would meet with a boy she knew from phone maybe and we tried our best to cancel their meeting. From sabotaging her phone but Au was too worry to type the cancel message to the boy, till Yutri picked up the phone from him and pretended to be Chang saying their meeting was canceled. No one was success. Lol. Till the Maghrib time..

Some Cries
Noni phoned me. Crying said that Mama was sick and this time, she said that he couldn't stand it anymore. Everyone's face changed to be gloomy. Surprisingly they prepared their black clothes into bag. I didn't even dare to ask why they should pack the black clothes. That's way too much but, I prepared mine. Car was used by Abang to take people to Brastagi and there was big jammed everywhere due to Lebaran. Dad decided to go to Kampung by motorcycle but it turned out his blood pressure raised. So danger for him to ride motorcycle in night. Mom is the most worrying and she cried. Avoidably she and Kakak must ride the motorcycle. Hopefully everything is gonna be alright.

When she was a girl, Rana, her nickname, was like being flogged to study harder and harder for knowing that her father got irrespective treat from his boss, just because he was in the lowest position due to the low education. Her mom was crying while told Rana to study harder in order to raise her family dignity. And Rana kept her promise to her parents.

Her ambitions in the world of education made her too drawn in books and libraries. From one study to another. From one article to another article. The result was clear, she could finish her post-graduate on time. Her writings frequently appeared in the newspaper. Many her articles published in prestigious scientific journals at domestic and foreign. She often being trusted by the college in national and international symposiums. She was also awarded as role model lecturer for the region Central Java Kopertais. And her best achievement was she was called to receive an international award at Tsinghua University in China.

Immersed in her achievements made Rana forgot her nature which was born as a woman; married and having children. Insistence from her parents had repeatedly come to her. Ranging from the subtle to the blatantly told her that they did not need any more awards. What they need was to have grandchildren from Rana, their only daughter. They even started ignoring Rana with indifference upon her accapt of international awards in China.

The high achievement Rana got could not hide the fact that she was getting older, but not married yet. It was quite a lot of men who proposed her. But not one that she received. She expressed a variety of reasons. Ranging from wanting to focus on her post-graduate, a man who did not fit her criteria, until the man she considered his job would not guarantee a bright future.

Rana finally realized it was the time for her to build a new home. But it was very difficult for her to immediately fulfill it. Because of her high education but the age was not young (34 years old), of course not many men who could meet her standard. If any man with the same level of hers, of course, would choose a younger woman.

It's getting worse because her parents who wanted their only daughter got married, absurdly happy when they got a proposal from the Dean on campus Rana teaching. Especially the Dean promised the Hajj to Rana's parents. They, especially the father had to swallow disappointment for the umpteenth time since the daughter still refused the proposal came to her. Rina's reasons were obvious this time, the Dean was a lecherous man who likes playing with girls.

Rana's rejection of the Dean's proposal turned out very bad impact on her career. At the suggestion of one of her friends, Rana eventually resigned from the college where she taught before the Dean launched the action; fired Rana with no disciplinary reasons.

Rana's surrender. She no longer wanted to determine standard for a man who she would marry. She just hoped to find a husband who could be a kind Imam for their future family life. On the advice of a Kyai, Rina agreed to marry a seller crackers, whose education was inversely 180 degrees compared with her. He was a widower with one child. All the wedding preparations had been prepared. Rana liked to announce to the world, in her heart, that she was no different from other women. She could also get married. Her parents liked to be the happiest parents in the world.

But the fact that happiness was still not allowed to be owned by Rana. Her fiance died from getting hit by a train in the night before their marriage ceremony to be held in the tomorrow morning. The unfortunate could not be denied, no fortunate could be achieved. Her father was very shocked for his prospective son's death, died of a heart attack. Rana could not bear the sorrow and had rushed to the hospital. It seemed she wanted just to die.

Rana trying to survive. However she lamented the sorrow, it would not turn the time back. But the the light of happiness began to appear. A woman who was the mother of her student came to propose her. Rina worried and tried to explain that she and the woman's son was limited to lecturer and student. The student's mother convinced Rina that she really meant it. Rina agreed to the term they should be married that night because of the trauma she had. And in the same night, the marriage ceremony was held. Rina eventually married a man who was once her student, 4 years younger than her. The man who would be a kind Imam for their marriage life.

Personal comment:
It's really an establish soul story. Zahrana shows one example of carrying high educational achievement grasp any woman, it would be no perfect if she was not married and had children. Not because women are inferior to men and men can go around in women. But it is the nature, women are led and men lead. Do not forget that there is a great woman behind the man's successful . If there is a woman who considers having children is a choice that she could refuse on the grounds of human rights; she has the right to determine what she wants and does not want to do, whether she can have that such thoughts if before her mother conceived her, decided to better did not have children.
